ProDec's range fills a gap the disc and belt ranges don't cover — flexible sanding blocks and roll sanding paper, aimed at hand sanding and detail work rather than machine sanding.
Flexible Sanding Blocks
ProDec's sanding blocks come in two grades — fine-medium and medium-coarse — designed for hand sanding wood, metal and plastic surfaces, and particularly suited to shaped or curved surfaces that a flat disc or belt can't reach cleanly. They're washable in water, which extends their working life and reduces clogging compared to disposable paper alone.
Aluminium Oxide Sanding Paper Rolls
Supplied in 5m rolls rather than pre-cut sheets, ProDec's aluminium oxide sanding paper spans grits from 60 through to 240, giving flexibility to cut whatever length a specific job needs. The paper uses a crack-resistant backing, electrocoated and resin-bonded with aluminium oxide grit for extended life, and is suited to both hand sanding and general-purpose machine sanding — for orbital sanders and similar tools, rather than the larger drum or belt sanders the Starcke range is built for.
Common Questions About ProDec Products
When would I use a sanding block instead of sanding paper?
Sanding blocks give a firmer, more controlled surface for hand sanding, and their flexibility makes them particularly useful on shaped or curved surfaces. Loose sanding paper offers more flexibility for cutting to size or wrapping around specific tools.
What's the difference between fine-medium and medium-coarse blocks?
This is a difference in grit coarseness — fine-medium suits lighter finishing work, while medium-coarse is better for removing more material or working on rougher surfaces.
Is ProDec sanding paper suitable for machine sanding?
Yes — it's designed for both hand sanding and general-purpose machine sanding, such as orbital sanders, though it's not intended for the larger drum or belt sanders used in full floor sanding.
